Wallace, ID (January 24, 2012) – “This software will change the way we do business,” said Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office IT Manager/Coordinator, Sergeant Derek Dofelmire. Shoshone County signed a contract with TriTech’s IMC Solutions for Dispatch, AVL, Law Records Management, Jail Management and Administrative integrated software solution on January 20, 2012. Three county police departments – Osburn, Pinehurst and Kellogg – are also involved in the project and will share data across this new consolidated system which will provide better access to key information, as well as gain efficiencies to free up administrative hours in exchange for more time for their true public service – to serve and protect the people.
“Shoshone County ran into a technological issue with our past software vendor, which was unable to advance their products to meet today’s needs,” said Sergeant Dofelmire. “Our need to bring GIS, AVL and mobility to our County dictated our need to move on.” In addition to the needed software functionality, the combination of applications that the County decided on also includes technology that will expedite and simplify many aspects of Law Enforcement. For example, the bar code capability will help to quickly inventory and track evidence, and text-to-speech / speech-to-text functionality will eliminate a lot of data entry in place of voice data transmission. Overall, the system will result in increased awareness of available units, better communication, quicker response times and more efficient use of resources.
Sergeant Dofelmire explained, “After showing our Commissioners our need and what TriTech offers, they agreed to let us start the bid process. Having faith in the bid process, we were all very happy when the Commissioners agreed with our recommendation and awarded the bid to TriTech.
