Harris County, TX Emergency Corps Upgrades FIRE and EMS Communications Center

Harris County Emergency Corps Upgrades FIRE and EMS Communications Center with TriTech Software Systems CAD and Mobile products

New computer-aided dispatch and mobile data solution to enhance efficiency and improve pre-hospital care

SAN DIEGO, CA (January 21, 2011) ‐ TriTech Software Systems, the leading provider of integrated EMS and public safety software solutions, proudly announces the partnership with Harris County Emergency Corps in Houston, TX for its VisiCAD computer-aided dispatch and VisiNet Mobile data solutions.  The new communications solution will enable the operation to become more efficient and enhance the response of its 14 Fire and EMS agencies.

HCEC Executive Director Jeremy Hyde said, “We are very excited to work with TriTech on this project and value the technology and added productivity it provides.  The new TriTech VisiCAD product will enable us to more efficiently monitor our truck movements, capture reportable data, and effectively monitor our performance standards. This will allow for consistency in our procedures and to move toward the ultimate goal of improved patient care.”

Hyde explained that HCEC currently operates on an aging DOS-based platform which is unable to scale with their continued growth.  As a result, Hyde said, “the management team and Board of Commissioners evaluated several vendors’ solutions and approved the selection of TriTech’s Computer-Aided Dispatch and Mobile Data solutions because of Tritech’s proven reputation for reliability and the ability to meet the complex needs of our Center.”

“Customization and configurability was the key in our decision,” states Keir Scrivener, Communications Manager at HCEC.  “VisiCAD is a robust system that can be tailored to the needs of our clients, and meet the demands of our staff.  With the ANI/ALI interface we can quickly identify the caller, visualize the incident and unit location on the map; and with integration of the VisiNet Mobile Data solution, enable the dispatcher to send call information and turn-by-turn directions directly to the units in the field without any radio traffic.”

In striving to become officially recognized as an Accredited Center of Excellence (ACE) by the National/International Academies of Emergency Dispatch, “Enhancements such as updates to Emergency Medical and Fire dispatch protocols and a Quality Assurance component, will offer significant improvements and are key pieces needed to complete this project,” Scrivener continued.  “We set an aggressive deadline to be fully operational on VisiCAD by March 2011. While this will be a significant transition from our current system, with the support and flexibility of the TriTech staff, we are confident that we will meet our goal.”

According to Chris Maloney, president and CEO of TriTech Software Systems, “Our technology serves a critical role for many EMS and public safety agencies today – it is a vital operation tool in empowering clients to become more efficient with the limited resources available. We are privileged to partner with Harris County Emergency Corps and provide them with the leading Fire and EMS dispatch and mobile data technology on the market.  We are committed to our clients and our solutions’ capabilities to enhance their overall operations and enable them to continue to provide exceptional service to their clients.”
