WINSLOW- Software boost upgrades police
BY SCOTT MONROE - Staff Writer
No longer will a police officer from Winslow have to call police in Waterville or Oakland to learn if they've dealt with a particular person or case before.
The Winslow Police Department recently invested $10,000 into an upgraded computer software system, giving its officers instant access to data from the Waterville and Oakland police departments as well.
Called IMC, for Information Management Corporation, the system is increasingly the top choice for police agencies in Maine, according to Winslow Police Chief Richard Grindall. The switchover to the new, connected system in Winslow was completed during the last two weeks, Grindall said.
