Rhode Island Police Officers Now Share Data Instantly

Thirty-four police agencies, including the state police, now have the ability to share certain information in a matter of seconds. Cross Agency data sharing is a powerful new tool which can help solve crimes faster. Just one year ago, the police would have slogged through a time-consuming process for checking the suspect out, perhaps consulting other authorities over the telephone and finally tracking him down.
